Make A Difference Leadership Foundation Benefit Auction. London, United Kingdom

Hosting an event with the stature of the Make A Difference (MAD) Leadership Foundation’s Benefit Auction in London requires superb organising skills, dedicated work, the willingness to go the extra mile, operate outside of one’s comfort zone as you break new ground and enter a new market. Years of experience in hosting various international events in particular golf days in New York and London provided the know-how and confidence to take on a project of this nature.

The inaugural Make A Difference Leadership Foundation Benefit Auction combined an appreciation for South African art, culture, heritage and philanthropy. South Africa boasts a wealth of artistic talent and the auction included some of the best known established, as well as emerging contemporary South African based artists. Of particular interest were works by world-renowned artists William Kentridge, Angus Taylor and Mbongeni Buthelezi, which also formed part of the live auction.

With an array of must-have auction pieces, delicious South African inspired gourmet food, award-winning South African wines, live entertainment and a silent and live auction, it was a spectacular evening celebrating the best of South Africa.

In the words of MAD Leadership Foundation’s scholar and ambassador who so eloquently addressed the esteemed guests on the night, “I thank you for attending the Benefit Auction and for your support of scholars like myself. You have no idea of the difference you are making in our lives and the impact you will have on our future, our families, and our communities.

From all the Make A Difference Leadership Foundation scholars, thank you. Thank you for believing in us and investing in our futures.” Nqobile Mdletshe
